~ One notable trap

Emptiness ≠ non-existence.

things are empty of inherent existence, and still appear, function, depend

~ The trap
Nihilism.
No inherent thing can be found, therefore nothing exists.
Initially a mistaken view of emptiness can be very relieving. The system latches on, defends the view, fearing return to discomfort. This can become a form of self-sealing ultimate dissociation.
~ The dependent view
Empty & dependent.
No inherent thing is found, yet things appear and function. They arise dependently, not inherently.
Emptiness describes the absence of inherent existence. Dependence describes how things actually arise. Nothing excluded, no conflict with conventional speaking, relating, or thinking.
